Madrid Bravos present Rip Scherer as head coach
Madrid Bravos fans can be happy with the announcement of the first head coach in franchise history. Rip Scherer becomes the new head coach and will lead the Bravos' exciting project into their first tenure as an ELF franchise.
With extensive experience in pro football, Rip Scherer brings a long background that includes years of work in the National Football League (NFL) and the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA). His arrival marks a significant milestone for the Madrid Bravos, as he brings proven experience to the Spanish capital.
Prior to joining the Bravos, Scherer held various positions in the NFL, most notably as quarterbacks coach with the Carolina Panthers and Cleveland Browns. Having coached Justin Herbert, Antonio Gates and Hunter Henry will certainly help the Bravos in the months going forward. His experience at the professional level might provide the Bravos with a unique and valuable insight into improving player performance and developing winning strategies, which is key to the future of the franchise.
For Jaime Martín Lostao, general manager of Madrid Bravos, bringing in a profile like Rip Scherer is fundamental to the momentum of the franchise. "His experience as a coach in the NFL and College are key to design and implement our high performance program in Madrid. Jaime Martín also highlights how easily Rip has understood the Madrid Bravos management: Since we started the conversations, he has made the project his own, understanding perfectly the challenges we face and our objectives. In addition, Rip brings a coaching staff that covers all our needs and will help us achieve great results."
