"Lockdown Louis" Müller re-signs with the Hamburg Sea Devils
The 28-year-old cornerback ranked highest in passes defended in the last European League of Football season.
Cornerback Louis Müller will continue to provide strong coverage for the Hamburg Sea Devils in the coming year. The 28-year-old was able to convince everybody of his skills in the past season, giving outstanding coverage qualities to the Sea Devils' defense. With 1,77m of height and 85kg the cornerback was one of the best cornerbacks the league had to offer last year.
And the athlete is not finished yet, after losing the final game of last season against the Galaxy. "I want to give everything every day to get better and help the Sea Devils bring the title to Hamburg. After last season, we still have something to make upfor," said the pass defender, who is optimistic that he will be able to deliver top performances again in the upcoming season. In a total of nine games, Müller was responsible for 40 total tackles and two tackles for loss. With 12 pass defenses, he led not only the Hamburg defense, but the entire league. Enough to make a big impact.
Louis Müller started his career with the Hamburg Pioneers back in 2004, before the Hamburg native first moved to Kiel in 2019 and then returned to the Elbe last year. Unfortunately for him, however, Müller had to sit out both the final and the All-Star Game of the European League of Football due to injury. His performance was more than enough to impress his coaches.
"Lockdown Louis! Louis proved what he’s capable of last year with his stellar play which earned him an All-Star selection. Unfortunately, an injury kept him out of the championship and All-Star games. He’s a guy that came in and surpassed all expectations. A true competitor and professional. Putting him in positions to build of last season’s success will be key to our defensive play and his development." Defensive Coordinator Kendral Ellison speaks highly of his defensive back.
Louis is the next defensive back the Sea Devils signed for the upcoming season. These guys are already signed: Aleksandr Astahin, Daniel Brown, Kevin Fortes and Justin Rogers.
