Rhein Fire’s quarterback Jadrian Clark, who is originally from Lakeland, Florida, had an outstanding performance last Sunday in his game against the Paris Musketeers. He broke the European League of Football Single Game Passing Touchdown record with eight passing touchdowns.

So of course, we had a couple questions for him:

Jadrian, congratulations on the win past Sunday. How did the game feel for you, how happy are you with your performance and the performance of your team?

“Any time you can break a record like that, it obviously feels good! I have great Receivers and a great offensive line that allowed me to play out to my full potential. And adding Coach Weidinger this off season, definitely makes a huge difference!”

Rhein Fire is having a perfect start into season 2023 so far. In your first season, you played for the Hamburg Sea Devils and already experienced a European League of Football Championship Game. What would it mean to you to reach that goal again this year, especially with the chance of Rhein Fire playing in front of a home crowd?

“Obviously, our goal is to win the Championship. I think every team in the entire league will feel that way. It would mean so much to us to be able to play in front of our home crowd at the end of the season. But in order for us to get there, we have to take it one week at a time and stay focused on each opponent. We have the Cologne Centurions this week and that's our whole focus for now!”

Rhein Fires fandom is well known in Europe. Can you tell us what makes them so special? How much do you enjoy playing in front of them?

“Our crowd is nuts! *laughs* We have guys that do face paintings, bring drums, get fully dressed up in football pads. It’s unlike everything else I have ever seen in Europe. It definitely helps and gives us a huge advantage on game days. We have such loud and crazy fans, and they all love the sport so much. They also know exactly when they have to get loud and cause a little trouble for the other teams!”

Looking a couple of years back. Would you ever have imagined that Football will give you the opportunity to play the sport you love overseas & on the highest level in Europe?

“My intention was just to come over, play one season and enjoy a summer in Europe. But I loved it so much that I’ve been coming back for years now. I couldn’t have pictured a better way for my life to turn out. My dream was always to be a professional football player, but I never knew that there was going to be an opportunity as cool as the European League of Football.”

Since you're an international athlete from the US. Would you say you found your ‘home away from home’ in Düsseldorf? How much do you miss your life back in America?

“Düsseldorf definitely became my second home, but there are two things I actually miss about America: The beach and some good Mexican food. Living in Germany doesn’t provide much of either of those *laughs*. But I’m looking forward to the Bye Week to go to Italy, enjoy a week away at the beach and also eat some of that amazing pizza and pasta.”
