"I'm thrilled" - Raiders sign new quarterbacks coach
The coaching staff of the Raiders Tirol for the upcoming European League of Football season is taking shape. With Steven Comuntzis, the Tyrolean team can now present a new quarterbacks coach.
Comuntzis was previously an offensive assistant with the DC Defenders in the XFL and most recently served as an assistant defensive backs coach at the University of North Carolina. Additionally, Comuntzis has coached at Clarion University (wide receivers) and at Southeastern Louisiana University (assistant QB coach).
Throughout his career, Comuntzis has worked with numerous players, including Caleb Williams, the 2024 overall #1 pick and quarterback for the Chicago Bears.
"I’m thrilled to join Coach Herrmann’s staff. Excitement abounds at the opportunity to connect with our dedicated fans and the RAIDERS Tirol family. Drawing on knowledge gained from exceptional mentors across all three phases of the game, my aim will be to help build on last year’s RAIDERS Tirol successes. I spent the last week to meet and clinic with Coach Eger - preparation starts now; with Innsbruck’s breathtaking beauty as a backdrop, we’re poised for an epic 2025 football season!", says Comuntzis.
Ulz Däuber, GM-Football, comments: "Coach Comuntzis has worked with athletes on all levels including QBs currently in the NFL. Bringing that knowledge to the RAIDERS Tirol makes him a great asset on and off the field."
