The Prague Lions have found their new leader under center in quarterback Jaylon Henderson. After a strong first season in the European League of Football, the American signal-caller is ready to take the next step - and both Henderson and the Lions share the same clear goal: reaching the playoffs.

In an interview with "Foot Bowl", Henderson spoke openly about his move to Prague, his time with the Paris Musketeers, and his experience in his first ELF season.

Why Prague? Trust and the right feeling

When asked why he decided to join the Prague Lions, Henderson explained that the offseason recruiting process was more challenging than usual. "I spoke with a few teams, but the recruiting process this offseason was simply slower and more difficult."

For Henderson, the final decision came down to trust and communication. "It came down to the feeling."

"For me, it’s about relationships and the feeling you get from the organization. You want to feel comfortable, because you’re going to live there for several months. The management and the coaching staff gave me a really good feeling from the beginning. We had constant conversations, and that made the decision easy in the end."

That trust convinced Henderson that Prague was the right place to continue his ELF journey.

No bad blood with Paris

Henderson also addressed his separation from the Paris Musketeers, making it clear that there is no bitterness involved.

"The decision wasn’t really mine," he explained. "They told me they wanted to go in a different direction, which I understand. That’s football, that’s business."

Despite the move, Henderson spoke very warmly about his former teammates.

"I love those guys. I built great friendships in that locker room, honestly with everyone. They are some of the coolest people I’ve ever met in my life. I’ll miss them for sure - but I’m also excited to play against them."

A strong first ELF season

Statistically, Henderson’s 2025 season speaks for itself. He delivered a productive and efficient year as a dual-threat quarterback, showing his ability both through the air and on the ground.

Looking back personally, Henderson described his first ELF season as exactly what he was hoping for.

"It was the experience I was looking for. Every single game was fun, and we were competitive every week," he said. "It actually reminded me a lot of my time at Boise State. The game is fast, physical, and smart. The players are bigger, faster, and more disciplined than many people expect."

Facing strong defenses, defensive-minded coaches, and talented quarterbacks made the season even more enjoyable for him.

"It was great to play in those close, competitive games. I loved it - and I’m already excited for year two."

Hungry for more with the Lions

Now with the Prague Lions, Henderson joins a franchise that made big progress last season and came close to the playoffs. Both sides are hungry to take the next step.

A key factor in Prague’s offense will be Henderson’s connection with wide receiver William Patterson, one of the league’s most explosive playmakers. With Patterson as a primary target and Henderson’s ability to extend plays, the Lions’ offense has the tools to be dangerous every week.

The fit between quarterback and franchise looks promising - and expectations are rising in Prague.

One clear goal

Jaylon Henderson and the Prague Lions enter the upcoming season with the same mindset: unfinished business. After a strong first year in the league and a near-miss with the postseason, Henderson is confident, motivated, and ready to lead.

As he made clear in his interview with "Foot Bowl", this journey is only getting started - and Prague could be the place where Henderson takes his next big step in the ELF.
