Helvetic Mercenaries bring back Timothy Schürmann
The Helvetic Mercenaries have re-signed homegrown defender Timothy Schürmann. This young swiss talent looks to be a bigger part of head coach Marcus Herford and defensive coordinator Michael Woods unit in 2025.
The 23-year old from Basel Switzerland is back for year three with the Swiss ELF squad. During the past two seasons teh 188 and 104 kg defender has played all over the defense for several coaches putting up 56 tackles, 9.5 tackles for a loss and three forced fumbles over 19 career games.
Last season he took a big step forward notching 29 tackles, 6.5 tackles for a loss, including 1.5 sacks. The former NFL Academy player also brings experience from his time with the Schwäbisch Hall Unicorns in the German Football League.
The defense is thrilled to bring back Schurmann who joins Australian linebacker Tom Hodgkinson, Yann Hinder, and Americans Demarco Artis and Joc Crawford.
