Hamburg Sea Devils re-sign CB Ikenna Ukachu

The Hamburg Sea Devils have re-signed homegrown cornerback Ikenna Ukachu. The veteran defensive back is one of several players returning to the Sea Devils as new head coach Shuan Fatah takes over for one of the ELF's most proud franchises.

The 28-year-old is a veteran of the Oldenburg Knights, where he played since 2017. Last year was his first season in the ELF, as he made 20 tackles and played in all 12 games for the Sea Devils in 2024. Ukachu commented on what brought him back to the Sea Devils for 2024:

"There's a different energy in Hamburg this year. Can't wait to compete and turn some heads with my guys."

Ukachu will be joined on defense this year by 3X defensive player of the year Kyle Kitchens, as the Sea Devils have already made several major moves this off-season. New head coach Shuan Fatah hopes to get Hamburg back into the contender category after the Sea Devils missed the playoffs in 2023 and 2024.
