Hamburg Sea Devils end season with loss in International Game
The Hamburg Sea Devils concluded their fourth European League of Football season with a tough 13:63 defeat against the Madrid Bravos in the league’s first International Game, held in Šibenik, Croatia. The result capped off a challenging year for the Sea Devils.
Mark Weitz, General Manager and CEO of the Sea Devils, described the season as a significant challenge. “This season was a real test for us,” Weitz said. “We didn’t achieve what we hoped for, but it was a valuable experience that showed us where we need to improve.” Despite the disappointing end, Weitz expressed pride in the team’s dedication, noting, “I am proud of the commitment and dedication of our team. We will learn from these setbacks and come back stronger next season.”
The loss to the Madrid Bravos highlighted key areas for improvement. “The defeat against the Madrid Bravos clearly shows us what we need to work on for next season,” Weitz acknowledged. He admitted that the season had its share of highs and lows, and emphasized, “We fell short of our expectations in some areas, but I’m impressed by the determination and fighting spirit of our players.”
With a season record of 2:10, the Sea Devils were out of playoff contention midway through the year. Now, the focus shifts to analyzing the season's lessons and enhancing their performance for the future. Weitz is determined to use this experience to refine the team and make a strong comeback next season.
