With Daniel Laporte, one of Hamburg's most experienced linebackers returns to the Hamburg Sea Devils. The linebacker signs a contract for the coming year of the European League of Football one day before his 31st birthday. At 1.86 meters tall and weighing 95 kg, the veteran provided enough punch to hold his own against opponents. 66 tackles, 6 tackles For Loss and 2.5 sacks in eleven games provided the top ten mark in tackles in the league.

Brotherhood and powerhouse

"The biggest reason I’m back, is the 'unfinished business' and the 'brotherhood.'We've built a real stable powerhouse in the league that I want to continue to support. I also want to give something to the young players," says the athlete in the official press release.

After his club career with northern clubs like Kiel or Elmshorn and two European club championships in 2014 and 2015, a new challenge was needed.

"Perfect player"

"It's important that we have the core of players back next year and keep the continuity high. Daniel Laporte is such an important core player. He is literally the energy of the team and provides the mentality we need. Daniel is the perfect player for my defensive system because not only can he play sideline to sideline, but he also attacks the ball bad intentions," Defensive Coordinator Kendral Ellison explained.

In addition to Laporte, the defensive has already seen extensions with other athletes suchas Miguel Boock, Justin Rogers, and Evans Yeboah. Other athletes signed on defense were Daniel Brown, Kevin Fortes or Tim Hänni.
