Goodbye Jeffries: New QB1 for the Munich Ravens
The Munich Ravens have to respond to the loss of quarterback Chad Jeffries. Meanwhile, they are laying the foundation for the future.
There will be a new quarterback for the Munich Ravens next season. After two years together, the team and QB Chad Jeffries have parted ways.
“Chad played a pivotal role in establishing the foundation of this organization and contributing to our early success. Although we are saddened to see him go, we sincerely wish him all the best in his future endeavors,” says General Manager Sean Shelton.
In his two years in Munich, US import Jeffries recorded, 6423 passing yards and 65 passing touchdowns in 24 games, with just eleven interceptions. Now a new chapter awaits the 31-year-old.
His place at the Ravens will be taken by 21-year-old Russel Tabor. The US import played three years at the NCAA Division 1 College of North Carolina. Thanks to strong performances for the Tar Heels, Tabor made the All-State team in 2020.
Last season, he played for the Madrid Osos Rivas in Spain. Here he was able to build on his strong performances from college. Tabor led the LNFA in passing yards, passing touchdowns and total touchdowns and led his team to the title.
The talented quarterback has signed a contract with the Ravens until 2027, meaning that the quarterback issue has been resolved for the long term.
“Russell is an exceptionally impressive quarterback on film and an outstanding young man to engage with”, says GM Shelton. He adds: “His maturity far exceeds his 21 years. We are thrilled to welcome Russell to our team, especially on a long-term contract, as we continue to build this organization toward its full potential.”
Now Tabor will find a talented team in Munich. It will be exciting to see how fast the young QB is able to integrate into this new team.
