A proven coach with deep roots in German Football
Meister’s coaching journey began after health issues ended his playing career in 2018. He first took over as a coach for the second team of the New Yorker Lions, where he made his first steps on the sidelines.
From there, he moved to the Hildesheim Invaders, gaining valuable experience in the GFL and eventually serving as interim head coach - leading the team to its first-ever playoff appearance in 2019, the biggest achievement in the club’s history at that time.
In 2021, Meister entered the European League of Football for the first time, joining the Leipzig Kings as offensive line coach. After his stint in the ELF, he returned to the GFL and coached with the Berlin Adler, continuing to build his reputation as a demanding and detail-focused position coach.
Most recently, before joining the Raiders Tirol, Meister returned once again to the Hildesheim Invaders, completing a full circle in a coaching career that has spanned multiple teams and levels of competition.
A valuable addition for the Raiders
With Gerrit Meister now joining the Raiders Tirol, the franchise adds not only a skilled offensive line coach, but also a leader with championship experience and a deep understanding of European football. His proven ability to develop players, his successful coaching background, and his extensive knowledge from years in both the GFL and ELF make him a significant asset for the team.
Meister arrives in Innsbruck with clear ambition - and the Raiders can expect their offensive line to benefit greatly from his experience, discipline, and passion for the game.
