For a good cause: Frankfurt Galaxy presents Color Rush Jersey
At the next home game on August 10th against the Madrid Bravos, Frankfurt Galaxy will play in a special black jersey to draw attention to the rare disease MPS. Under the motto "Giving hope together", the Gesellschaft für MPS e.V. aims to offer help to those affected by the disease and raise awareness.
"The players will also know what they are wearing on their chest on the day,” said Lucas Frenkel from Frankfurt Galaxy. The black jerseys are rarely seen on the Galaxy footballers - in combination with the MPS lettering instead of the main sponsor, they represent a unique collection. These unique jerseys, worn by the 65 players, will be auctioned off after the game, with part of the proceeds being donated to the Society for MPS."
The Gesellschaft für Mukopolysaccharidosen (MPS) e.V. (Society for MPS) is a self-help organization that was founded in 1986 by parents of affected MPS patients.Since then, the association has grown steadily and is now active throughout Germany. In addition to MPS, the interests of patients with related diseases such as mucolipidosis (ML) and mannosidosis are also represented. MPS, ML and mannosidosis are incurable diseases with a progressive course.
Many patients die in childhood or young adulthood. The MPS Society supports those affected in a variety of ways. The work within the society is divided between volunteers on the one hand and full-time employees in the counseling center and office in Aschaffenburg on the other. They are supported by a scientific advisory board and medical consultants.
