Before we dive into some of the best and worst fantasy matchups this week, let's do some housekeeping. For those wondering, the scoring for the first week will be delivered as soon as the complete statistics are available. Don’t worry, the rosters for Week One have been saved and fans can rebuild their teams for Week 2. 

Starting now, the buying and selling of players is possible from Tuesday to Saturday, 12:00 CET. This change is intended to provide you with more flexibility and planning options. As a result, the bench will no longer be needed, but we are leaving it in to test it for the next Season.

With that out of the way, let me, Alex Malchow, & us take a look at some key players to consider in your lineup this week.

Start 'Em Week 2

QB Chad Jeffries Munich Ravens (4,200,000 GC)

Chad Jeffries and the Munich Ravens are coming off a demoralizing defeat to the Stuttgart Surge in a game where they only scored three points offensively. However, he is a proven quarterback who has a talented core of playmakers around him. Fans cannot give up on the Ravens and their potentially dynamic offense after only one outing. 

Better yet, they play the Milano Seamen in Week 2 in a classic “get right” game. Jeffries is an expensive option at the quarterback position, but I expect him to put up big numbers this weekend, especially with running back Tomiwa Oyewo battling through some injuries.

RB Dwayne Obi Madrid Bravos (1,900,00 GC)

Obi is priced at less than 2M in the fantasy manager, making him a solid value play at the running back spot. The talented Brit will be making his ELF debut alongside the Madrid Bravos as they take on the Barcelona Dragons on Saturday evening. I expect the bruising running back to reach the end zone and have a big day against the Dragons' defense in what could be one of the ELF's most fun new rivalries.

WR Aaron Jackson Berlin Thunder (2,700,00 GC)

Even in last week’s loss, Jackson reminded fans that he’s still one of the ELF’s best receivers. The veteran had a busy day, racking up 8 catches, 104 yards, and a touchdown to go along with a kick return touchdown. This week, he’ll be facing off against a Prague defense that still has a lot to prove. I’d expect Aaron Jackson and the Thunder offense to score early and often on Sunday, as Hamburg was able to create several explosive plays last week against the Lions' secondary.

Flex Florian Larose Paris Musketeers (1,600,000 GC)

Larose can be a bargain play here for fantasy managers as the French talent showed flashes last year, racking up 323 yards and four touchdowns. This week, Larose and the 2024 Musketeers will take on the Hamburg Sea Devils in their season debut. Look for Paris quarterback Zach Edwards to continue to build on the chemistry he built with Larose last season. In addition, the signing of 175cm Austin Mitchell as their American wide receiver should mean more red zone targets for the taller Larose as he has a chance to grow into a scoring machine as an X receiver for the Musketeers.

Sit 'Em Week 2

QB Luke Zahradka Frankfurt Galaxy (3,800,000 GC)

Zahrakda and the talented Galaxy offense are in for an exciting season, however, it may not kick off with fireworks this weekend as they face a very opportunistic Rhein Fire defense. The veteran quarterback will be playing for a new team in a new system for the first time in years, and it may take a couple of weeks before Zahradka and Frankfurt can find their rhythm. Unfortunately, there is no tune-up or pre-season game for them, as they’ll come out of the gates facing the defending champs and a defense known for causing turnovers.

RB Nicholas Khandar Stuttgart Surge (1,900,000 GC)

Khandar looked great behind a very good Stuttgart offensive line in week one, rushing for 76 yards on 12 carries. But I don't expect that to repeat this weekend. The Surge will be taking on the Wrocław Panthers and middle linebacker AJ Wentland. Wentland and the core of Panthers defenders shut down Berlin’s running backs, holding them to less than two yards a carry last week. While the Surge’s offensive line is an overall better unit, I have trouble putting Khandar in my lineup this week based on the matchup.
 

WR Jarvis McClam Hamburg Sea Devils (2,800,000 GC)

McClam made one of the biggest plays of Week 1 by reeling in a 99-yard touchdown pass against Prague. This week, however, he’ll be matched up against an athletic Paris secondary, and a fierce pass rush that could take away deep shot opportunities for himself and quarterback Javarian Smith. 

If McClam is going to have a big game versus the Musketeers, he’ll have to take short routes and earn his yards after the catch, given Paris’s team speed on defense, I wouldn’t count on it.

Flex Gennadiy Adams Wrocław Panthers (2,500,000 GC)

Adams went off last week, scoring three touchdowns and racking up 92 all-purpose yards, but I don’t see him having that same success against a physical, fast, and fundamentally sound Stuttgart Surge defense. I’d keep him out of the lineup for this week, but have him ready to put in the flex or RB positions in the future against weaker defenses.
