Elmeri Laalo continues to play for the Vienna Vikings

More good news for the fans of the Vienna Vikings. After the team has already announced some important contract extensions, the next one follows.

Elmeri Laalo will continue to play for the Vikings next ELF season. The Finn extends his expiring contract for another year.

"I'm excited to be back with the Vikings for another season in 2025. I am looking forward to continuing to compete at the highest level of European football with my brothers in Vienna," said Laalo after the extension.

The free safety has been playing in Vienna since 2023. The 23-year-old has delivered a respectable performance so far. Last season, he made 52 tackles, 10.5 of them for loss, three sacks and three bass breakups.

Defensive coordinator Daniel Auböck is also happy that Laalo is staying: "Elmeri is a cornerstone of our defense and we are very happy to have him on board for 2025.
His versatility lets him contribute in multiple ways as he aligns all over the field for us. Elmeri‘s improvements over the last two season were incredible, as a player and a leader! We can’t wait to see the next level of his development."

Laalo joins a number of important contract extensions. The Vikings recently extended the contracts of Ben Holmes, Noah Touré, Karri Pajarinen and Johannes Schütz.
