ELF Trophy arrives in Stuttgart – 35,000 tickets sold

The European League of Football (ELF) will hold its final for the first time at Stuttgart's MHP Arena on Sunday. The winner's trophy has already arrived in the state capital today. Mayor Dr. Frank Nopper presented the ELF Trophy to the media at Stuttgart City Hall together with ELF Managing Director Zeljko Karajica and VfB Executive Board Member Rouven Kasper.

"Stuttgart is very open to sports that are growing rapidly"

American football has been a fixture in German amateur sports in Stuttgart for decades, with the traditional Stuttgart Scorpions (founded in 1982) and Stuttgart Silver Arrows (founded in 1997). Currently, the still young European professional league is hosting the biggest football event in Stuttgart to date: More than 35,000 tickets have now been sold for the European League of Football (ELF) final on Sunday at the MHP Arena. Sixteen teams from nine countries have determined the finalists: Stuttgart Surge won the runner-up title in 2023 and is now challenging the Vienna Vikings (champions in 2022 and runners-up in 2024) for the title.

Mayor Dr. Frank Nopper: "As an international sports city, Stuttgart is very open to sports that are growing rapidly in Germany. It's great that tens of thousands of sports fans are coming to Stuttgart for the European League Football final. I am particularly pleased that the Stuttgart Surge have qualified for the final in Stuttgart."

"More than 35,000 tickets sold are a strong signal"

ELF Managing Director Zeljko Karajica: "It is a great honor and something very special for the ELF to bring the Championship Game to Stuttgart for the first time. To a city with a great football tradition and a sports-loving audience. More than 35,000 tickets sold are a strong signal that interest in our sport continues to grow in Germany and Europe. With the Vienna Vikings and Stuttgart Surge, the two best teams on the continent are in the final, and fans can also look forward to a spectacular halftime show with 'Die Fantastischen Vier', for whom it is also a home game. It will be a football festival that will rock the MHP Arena."

VfB board member Rouven Kasper: "We are delighted that the MHP Arena Stuttgart will be hosting the ELF Championship Game. On Sunday, our city and our region will get the long-awaited 'Finale dahoim' with the participation of our Stuttgart Surge. What a special occasion. We will experience another top-class international sporting highlight in the heart of our NeckarPark. VfB Stuttgart is keeping its fingers crossed for the ELF and both finalists that a new European League of Football attendance record will be set and that we will all experience a high-class, atmospheric final."
