ELF's new divisions - "We can’t wait and we will be ready!"
The European League of Football is restructuring its league system for the upcoming 2025 season. From now on, teams will compete in four different divisions during the regular season: the North Division, the East Division, the South Division and the West Division.
Stuttgart Surge head coach Jordan Neuman is looking forward to the West Division matchups against Frankfurt Galaxy, Paris Musketeers and Cologne Centurions: "It’s very exciting to have a brand new division as it brings some fresh opponents to the table that Surge has not played in a while. It’s a very strong division with very good teams which will make for exciting games during the year. This will be great for our fans and our football team, we can’t wait and we will be ready!"
Hamburg Sea Devils will face old acquaintances and new opponents in the North Division: Nordic Storm (Copenhagen/Malmö), Rhein Fire (Düsseldorf) and Berlin Thunder (Berlin). The matchup against Rhein Fire, last season's champions, will certainly be special. "We've learned a lot from last season and are ready to achieve a different result this time", explains Head Coach Shuan Fatah. "Our focus is on using the revenge to make a statement in this strong division."
Another highlight will be the clash with Berlin Thunder, an ELF duel steeped in tradition. This game is even more of interest by the transfer of Kyle Kitchens, the three-time Defensive Player of the Year, from the Berlin Thunder to the Sea Devils. "Kyle is a huge boost for our team. The games against Berlin will definitely be some of the most emotional of the season", predicts Fatah.
For the first time, the Sea Devils will face Nordic Storm, the newly founded team from Copenhagen and Malmö. "It's exciting to have a new rival in our division with Nordic Storm. The rivalry in the north will certainly make for electrifying games", says Mark Weitz, General Manager of the Hamburg Sea Devils.
North Division: Berlin Thunder, Hamburg Sea Devils, Nordic Storm, Rhein Fire
East Division: Fehervar Enthroners, Prague Lions, Vienna Vikings, Wroclaw Panthers
South Division: Munich Ravens, Helvetic Mercenaries, Raiders Tirol, Madrid Bravos
