ELF finishes season with record numbers

Football grows in Europe: Grand final with 31,500 fans in the stadium and strong TV ratings (market share up to 7.9 percent) on ProSieben and viewer records in the European League of Football: nine cities with record attendance.

Football in Europe has reached a new level! While Europe's biggest football final since 2007 attracted 31,500 fans in Duisburg's Schauinsland-Reisen Arena, the free-TV broadcast on ProSieben topped the charts with up to 7.9 percent market share in the target group (ages 14-49) and a net reach of 660,000 viewers. Even at the fan huddle before the Championship Game, around 7500 fans were on hand to celebrate the sport with European League of Football officials.

Record numbers on and off the field

Back in June, 32,500 fans made their way to Hamburg's Volksparkstadion to watch the Sea Devils play Rhein Fire. A new record in the European League of Football. Furthermore, a record number of spectators was set in nine European cities at the same time this season.

In addition, many fans were also in contact with the European League of Football online. In Game Pass, this resulted in over 285,000 views across all matches, while the reach on the Instagram platform increased by almost 50 percent compared to the previous year. Impressions reached over 130 million across all platforms for the first time. A milestone in the ELF's short history.

New challengers ahead

Looking ahead to the upcoming season, preparations are already in full swing. A few days after the Championship Game, the Madrid Bravos unveiled the name and logo of the franchise that will compete for the first time in the 2024 season. The bulls from the Spanish capital show themselves in the colors orange, red, black and gray and want to cause havoc accordingly to their name.

2024 on the horizon

"Behind us lies a season that has been as challenging as it has been exciting, in which the European League of Football has once again taken a giant step forward. We are still at the very beginning of our journey, but we will learn from our mistakes and continue to build on what we have achieved. We are already starting to prepare for the 2024 season. I am convinced that a great time lies ahead of us," says ELF commissioner Patrick Esume.

Back in August, Managing Director Zeljko Karajica and Esume announced that the Championship Game would be held on September 22, 2024, at the Veltins Arena of the traditional soccer club FC Schalke 04 in Gelsenkirchen. Advance ticket sales have already begun
