Danish stars return from retirement to join Nordic Storm
Next addition for Nordic Storm on their way to build a competitive franchise in the European League of Football. Danish star Defensive Linemen Mads Marquard Nielsen came back out of retirement to help the Storm to bring Nordic Football on the European map. But he is not the only one to return.
“I’m thrilled to come out of retirement and join the Nordic Storm as we kick off this exciting new chapter for football in the North”, explains Marquard Nielsen.
The powerful Homegrown joined the Copenhagen Towers back in 2017. Since then, he won six National Championships. Marquard Nielsen showed strong performances, earning him three Defensive MVP awards and a spot in the Danish national team.
The season goal is clear for the 29-years-old: “For too long, we haven’t had the opportunity to compete at the highest level, but now we’re here to change that and show what we’re made of. This is more than just a team.”
In addition to Marquard Nielsen, Storm also got another addition for their D-Line. Defensive Tackle and also former Copenhagen Tower Kristoffer Brun Hansen joining the young franchise.
The 36-years-old veteran also brings six national championships and a lot of football experience with him. “It is a childhood dream to play for a team like this”, explains Hanson, who also come back from his retirement. “I think Nordic Storm has made it very clear, that it is a team with high ambitions, and I hop to add to that”, says Nielsen.
Nordic Storm's defense is therefore taking shape more and more. Excitement is growing in anticipation of the team's first appearance on May 18 against the Helvetic Mercenaries.
