Coach of the Year Nominees

An exciting season in the ELF is almost in the books. Two equally exciting decisions still have to be made.

On the one hand, this year's champion still has to be determined in the final in Gelsenkirchen. On the other hand, various players and coaches will be honored in 16 categories - the ELF Honor's.

This is also the case among the coaches. We take a look at the three nominated head coaches.

Stuttgart Surge Head Coach - Jordan Neumann

The Stuttgart Surge can reflect on a thoroughly successful season. The German franchise ended the regular season almost undefeated. The only close defeat suffered by Neumann's team was against the Tirol Raiders (45:42). Otherwise, Surge had a record of 11:1 and lost late to Rhein Fire in an overtime thriller in the playoffs.

Vienna Vikings Head Coach - Chris Calacay

When talking about the best coaches in the ELF, there is no way around Calacay. Back to back, the experienced head coach led his team through the regular season without a defeat. The success speaks for itself. In the Championship Game, they can clinch Calacay's second ELF title.

Rhein Fire Head Coach - Jim Tomsula

Our next nominee might have something against that. Rhein Fire coach Tim Tomsula could not only clinch the second title in the club's history in the final, no, even the second in a row. Unlike the Vikings, Tomsula did lose one game (22:10 against Madrid Bravos), but that was already three months ago. Fire came back stronger and are deservedly in the Championship Game on September 22nd in Gelsenkirchen.
