The Prague Lions are writing one of the biggest Cinderella stories of the ELF season so far. Despite losing their last two games, the Lions already have four wins this year. Their record sits at 4-4, keeping them firmly in the playoff race. In fact, with a playoff chance of 42.7%, they are statistically more likely to make the postseason than big-name teams like the Paris Musketeers, Rhein Fire, or Madrid Bravos.

A playoff dream still alive

The Lions’ playoff hopes are far from over. They have four games left in the regular season - and on paper, their schedule looks manageable. They’ll face the Fehérvár Enthroners, Frankfurt Galaxy, and the Helvetic Mercenaries twice. All three of those opponents currently have losing records, and the Enthroners and Mercenaries have yet to win a single game this season. That explains why the Lions still have such high playoff odds.

Home games becoming a problem

But there’s a big problem for Prague: three of their last four games are at home. For many teams, that would be an advantage. However, for the Lions, it has been quite the opposite. Amazingly, the Lions have never won a home game in their entire ELF history, despite collecting six total victories as a franchise.

This home-field struggle could be a major obstacle as they try to secure wins down the stretch and lock in a playoff spot.

Time to break the curse?

For the Lions, the goal is clear: turn home-field disadvantage into a real advantage. If they can finally earn their first home victory - especially against teams lower in the standings - the path to the playoffs remains wide open.

Fans in Prague are certainly hoping that the Lions’ Cinderella story has one more magical chapter left.
