Berlin Thunder sign Jakeb Sullivan

The Berlin Thunder have found their quarterback for the 2024 ELF season. Jakeb Sullivan will join the team he beat in the playoffs a few months ago.

College and GFL Star

After starting four seasons for South Dakota School of Mines and Technology, where he was an All-Conference selection twice and a Division II All-American senior, Sullivan joined the Marburg Mercenaries in the GFL. With 60 total touchdowns in 2019, Sullivan led the Mercenaries to a playoff berth and made the GFL All-Star team. After he was supposed to play for the Vienna Vikings in 2020, the now 29-year-old joined the Frankfurt Galaxy in 2021.

Offensive Player of the Year and Championship Game MVP

In his three years with the Galaxy, Sullivan became one of the most successful ELF quarterbacks in history. After winning the Offensive Player of the Year Award, the Championship Game, and the Championship Game MVP Award in 2021, Sullivan missed six games over the following two seasons due to injury. Despite playing well, when on the field, Sullivan and the Galaxy parted ways following a 2023 season, which ended with a semi-final loss to the later champion Rhein Fire.

Second spring for Sullivan?

Now, the Thunder has an experienced and talented quarterback, who can create plays with his legs and is one of the most accurate passers in the ELF. With weapons like Robin Wilzeck, Aaron Jackson, and Nicolai Schumann at his disposal, Sullivan could be set up for the second spring in his career. Can the Thunder become a legitimate title contender in 2024?
