Austin Mitchell: "There's plenty more to come"

There is starting the season hot... and then there is starting the season like wide receiver Austin Mitchell. In the first game, he racked up nine catches for 152 receiving yards and four (!) touchdowns. The wideout for the Paris Musketeers joined the French side this offseason and headed into his first ELF-season with a bang. In an interview with the ELF, he talks about his debut, the expectations for the season and the upcoming match.

Mr. Austin Mitchell, you scored four touchdowns in your first ELF-game. Do you have enough touchdown-celebrations left for the remainder of the season?

Austin Mitchell: "Yes, sir! Don’t worry! I know my guys will come party in the end zone with me every time, so it’s plenty more to come from me."

For you, it is your first season in the ELF. Talk us through that experience.

Mitchell: "I would say that my first couple of months have been great so far. It's great being around this team and the family atmosphere that we have created in Paris."

In the season opener, you and Paris showed no rust and came out swinging, how did you catch such a good start to the season?

Mitchell: "I would say it starts in practice. I learned the following at a very young age: If you go to practice every day and treat it like a game, then come game time everything will just come easy to you, because you did it all week to build up to that day."

We already saw that Paris can be a dangerous opponent. What are your goals this season?

Mitchell: "The goals for this season will be to just take every week, one game at a time, and just keep focusing on us. We have to keep doing our job and doing everything to help our team win! And, of course, we want to push for the playoffs."

This week, it will be your first home game with Paris, what do you expect?

Mitchell: "I expect the first home opener to have a great atmosphere and our fans being behind us 100%."

Thanks! And best of luck for the rest of the season.
