Here is a preview of the new football movie from Universal Pictures called HIM – THE GREATEST OF ALL TIME. The movie will be in cinemas in October.
What are you willing to sacrifice to become the greatest of all time?
HIM – THE GREATEST OF ALL TIME tells the story of Cameron Cade, a promising young quarterback who has dedicated his entire life to football. On the eve of the annual pro tryouts, Cameron is attacked by a mentally disturbed fan and suffers a severe brain trauma that could end his career forever. All seems lost - until, unexpectedly, Cameron’s idol Isaiah White reaches out to him.
The legendary, yet aging, eight-time football champion and megastar offers to train the young man at his secluded estate, where he lives with his wife, Elsie White, a famous influencer. But as the training grows more intense, Isaiah’s charismatic charm begins to reveal a much darker side - and the supposed chance of a lifetime soon turns into a nightmare.
Terrifying journey behind the curtain of fame
HIM – THE GREATEST OF ALL TIME takes the audience on a terrifying journey behind the curtain of fame, power, and the relentless pursuit of perfection. The film is produced by Oscar winner Jordan Peele and Monkeypaw Productions, the company behind the groundbreaking psychological horror films Get Out, Us, Nope, and Candyman. The screenplay made it onto the so-called "Black List" - an annual survey of Hollywood’s most popular unproduced scripts. It was written by Zack Akers and Skip Bronkie, creators of the science fiction crime series Limetown, together with Justin Tipping.
Marlon Wayans (Respect) shines as the aging star quarterback. His young protégé is played by Tyriq Withers (Atlanta), who was a college football player before starting his acting career. The cast also includes Julia Fox (Uncut Gems), comedy legend Tim Heidecker (Us), and Australian comedian Jim Jefferies (The Jim Jefferies Show). Also making their feature film debuts are MMA heavyweight boxer Maurice Greene and hip-hop stars Guapdad 4000 and Grammy nominee Tierra Whack.
The film is directed by Justin Tipping (Kicks). Producers are Ian Cooper (Us), Jordan Peele (Nope, Get Out), Win Rosenfeld (Candyman), and Jamal M. Watson (Hala) for Monkeypaw Productions.
