Wroclaw Panthers linebacker AJ Wentland has been one of the most consistent and dominant defenders in the European League of Football. In 2025, his performances were once again outstanding - and at the ELF Honors he was named Defensive Player of the Year.

A career of consistency

Wentland has built a reputation as one of the league’s top tacklers and leaders. Week after week, he was the heart of the Panthers’ defense, keeping the team competitive even in a season where Wroclaw finished with a 5-7 record and missed the playoffs.

In an interview with First Down Magazine, Wentland reflected on his long career and the support he has received: "I couldn’t have done it without my teammates and coaches who helped me along the way, and it’s been just a crazy journey to have such a long career playing in Europe - and it’s been amazing."
