Hamburg Sea Devils sign US-American Preston Haire at quarterback

The Hamburg Sea Devils have found their quarterback for the upcoming European League of Football season.

Preston Haire, former quarterback of the Oklahoma Baptist Bisons in the NCAA Div. II, will lead the Hamburg Sea Devils into the 2023 season. The US-american signal caller has recently joined a minicamp of the New Orleans Saints in the NFL, and now makes his way to Europe to sign with the football franchise, as Hamburg announced.

"He checked every box"

Offensive Coordinator Brett Morgan: "Preston Haire has been an outstanding quarterback and leader at every level he’s been. He checked every box with exceptional production, athletic testing, background reports and psychological profile. The film backs it up with a player who can beat you with his arm, legs, and head. He was in an NFL camp for a reason and has the skill level to be an elite QB in our league."

New roles in the Sea Devils offense

After having two homegrown quarterbacks in 2022, the Sea Devils go back to an Import for 2023. With Jadrian Clark, they already had a US-quarterback in 2021, not re-signing him in 2022. He later joined the Rhein Fire where he still plays.

The 1.83 m tall and 93 kg born Texan Preton Haire is expected to lead the fortunes of the offense and has earned GAC Offensive Player of the Year and All-American honors in both 2019 and 2021.
