Saturday Recap: Winning streak and important comeback

Favorites were able to hold their own while a lot of action filled the evening!

Important comeback in the West

The Hamburg Sea Devils travelled to the Cologne Centurions in which could have been an early finish for the Sea Devils in the Western Conference. The game had to be won and that's how the Hamburg team approached the game on offense, defense and special teams. A pick six and solid performances by the Centurions receiving corps had the Sea Devils in a hard fought game. Defensive production by the Sea Devils’ defensive front helped to keep the gap wide enough until the 34-17 victory.

Top-game in Innsbruck

The Barcelona Dragons and Raiders Tirol both went into the game with 2-0. Both teams went into the duel with a lot of self-confidence. The Barcelona Dragons wanted to finally get important points against higher ranked opponents. Strong Raiders with offensive wit, players like Jarvis McClam and debutant Sandro Platzgummer were too much for a young Dragons team. With 29-13, the Raiders showed an overall solid performance, cruising into a three-game winning streak.

Too much to handle in Leipzig

The Leipzig Kings had a must-win situation in the East, meeting the Enthroners for their second home game. In a hot game, it was mainly Steve McShane on the Leipzig side who extended his team MVP role. The offensive line on the side of the Enthroners had difficulties to keep the pressure off Jerod Evans. Leipzig secured its second win of the season with a 47-24 victory.

Vikings provide highlights

In front of a record-breaking crowd, the Vienna Vikings brought the Prague Lions a memorable defeat. They had to admit defeat with 21-69. The Vikings were dominant in all phases of the game, had too much firepower with Exavier Edwards, Jordan Bouah or Florian Bierbaumer. 667 total yards on offense showed the absurdity of the Vikings offensive game.
