Nailbiter: Raiders end Surge's unbeaten streak
Final: 45-42
The game was a real thriller, exciting until the very last play. With this win, the Raiders kept their playoff hopes alive and sent an important message to the league. For the Surge, a victory would have clinched the conference title, but that celebration will have to wait after this loss.
The game started well for the Surge with a 95-yard kickoff return touchdown by Yannick Mayr. What followed was a back-and-forth battle with big plays on both offense and defense. The halftime score was 28-21 in favor of the Raiders Tirol.
The second half kept the excitement going, with both teams continuing their strong play on both sides of the ball. The Raiders forced two interceptions and two fumbles, while the Surge forced three fumbles, returning two of them for touchdowns.
Late in the game, the Raiders, led by their quarterback N’Kosi Perry, managed to take a 45-42 lead. Although the Surge, with quarterback Reilly Hennessey, moved the ball down the field in the final 40 seconds, they attempted a field goal to tie the game. However, the Raiders' special teams showed their determination by blocking the kick from Stuttgart Surge kicker Lenny Krieg, securing the win.
In Week 13, the Raiders Tirol will face the Milano Seamen, aiming to build on this performance and secure a playoff spot. Meanwhile, the Surge will host the Barcelona Dragons, looking to finally clinch the Central Conference title.
