Louis Achaintre on Galaxy’s culture shift: "The guys have new energy"

Frankfurt Galaxy linebacker Louis Achaintre recently joined the ELF Live Show and opened up about last season's struggles and the changes ahead in 2025. After a disappointing 2024 season filled with close losses and missed opportunities, the once-dominant franchise is focused on a fresh start.
“We had everything – But couldn't connect"
Looking back on 2024, Achaintre shared his thoughts on what went wrong: "We had a good roster, we had a great organisation. Sometimes, even if you have everything, it's hard to connect it all – and that was our main issue."
Despite strong talent on the field and a well-structured organization, Galaxy fell short in critical games. But with a new season on the horizon, changes are already making a difference.
A full-time coaching staff brings a new culture
One of the biggest changes is the addition of full-time coaches – something Frankfurt Galaxy didn’t have before. Former Head Coach Thomas Kösling moved into the role of Sporting Director and brought in veteran coach Bart Andrus to lead the team.
"The coaches bring a lot of experience," Achaintre explained. "They've coached all over America. With Bart Andrus, we have the right guy to lead us in this new way."
The new coaching setup is already making an impact on the team atmosphere. According to Achaintre, the players are feeling refreshed and more energized than before.
Tough schedule ahead
Even with the positive momentum, the 2025 season won't be easy. Frankfurt Galaxy will face strong competition, including the Stuttgart Surge, Paris Musketeers, Madrid Bravos, and Nordic Storm – all teams seen as potential championship contenders.
