Live on TV: Rhein Fire announced NFL Draft Pick

Great honor for the current champion of the European League of Football: As part of the NFL Draft 2025, the Rhein Fire players QB Chad Jeffries and DB Omari Williams were able to announce a player selection (draft pick) live for the NFL partner club Seattle Seahawks.

From the Rheinterrassen Düsseldorf, some players and fans went live on US television to present the selection of DT Rylie Mills / Notre Dame to the worldwide football fans in front of the TVs in the 5th round.

"An incredible effort, considering that the broadcast only lasts just under 30 seconds,” says Rhein-Fire General Manager Max Paatz, summarizing the extraordinary operation. As part of the international marketing strategy, draft picks have been regularly announced on US television via live broadcasts from around the world for several years now. 

It was a special honor for Rhein Fire Owner Martin Wagner: "Rhein Fire has been working closely with the Seattle Seahawks from the National Football League since last year. We are very proud that the Seahawks have asked us to announce their draft pick tonight live on US television and World Stream. Around 15 million viewers watched us in the USA alone."

Rhein Fire announced further activities together with the NFL team for the upcoming season in the European League of Football. This includes the first home game on June 1 against the Vienna Vikings, which will take place in the Merkur Spiel-Arena in Düsseldorf.
