Hot Take Friday: Wildcard Edition
With the Wildcard games right ahead, here are my Hot Takes for this European League of Football weekend.
With Tony Tate out, the Wrocław Panthers will have to lean on their young running back Dawid Brzozowski to, quite literally, carry them to the semi-final. The Stuttgart rushing defense has only been middle of the pack throughout the season, and the Polish Phenom has proven that he can be a consistent difference maker for the Panthers offense. I believe that Brzozowski will reveal Stuttgart’s defensive struggles and rush for 200+ yards, taking the Panthers to the semi-final.
The 2023 season has not been an easy one for Jakeb Sullivan. The Galaxy quarterback got hurt in the season opener against Rhein Fire and had to sit out until Week 7. In his seven total games, Sullivan completed only 60.78% of his passes, throwing for 16 touchdowns and five interceptions with an average passer rating of 96.86. Despite that, I believe that Jakeb will be able to step up when it matters most and throw for more than 300 yards and four touchdowns in a home win against the Thunder, securing a spot in the semi-final.
