The 2024/25 NFL season is drawing to a close. The American football world is curiously looking ahead to February 9th. This is when this year's Super Bowl will take place and the new NFL champion will be crowned. 

Before that, however, the Conference Championship games between the Kansas City Chiefs and the Buffalo Bills (AFC) on the on hand and the Philadelphia Eagles and the Washington Commanders (NFC) on the other hand are still to come this Sunday, the 25th.

But who will win the prestigious Vince Lombardi Trophy at the end? We asked some Football experts at the press conference for the ELF Championship Game 2025 in Stuttgart, which happened Thursday.

These are their predictions:

Louis Geyer, Stuttgart Surge 

The 23-year-old has actually picked the Detroit Lions. However, they were surprisingly eliminated in the Divisional Round by the Washington Commanders. The wide receiver therefore needs a new favorite.

"I actually told myself, I wasn't going to bet against Mahomes", says Geyer. The Kansas City Chiefs' superstar has been one of the best quarterbacks in the league for years. In the past two years, Mahomes has led his team to two Super Bowl victories in a row. 

In this regular season, however, his performances were inconsistent. In the playoffs he was able to stabilize. Not enough for Geyer: "I say, the Bills will make it."

Jordan Neuman, Stuttgart Surge

His head coach Jordan Neuman is of the same opinion. He also predicts a victory for the Buffalo Bills: "Maybe it's finally Josh Allen's time."

Since the quarterback was drafted in the first round six years ago, the Bills have made the playoffs five times. However, they always failed to get into the Super Bowl. Till now.

Marcel Dabo, Indianapolis Colts 

It's a slightly painful question for Marcel Dabo. After all, his Indianapolis Colts, for whom the former Stuttgart Surge player is active in the practice squad, have already been eliminated. 

"I think the Indianapolis Colts will win the Super Bowl, definitely at some time in the future", says Dabo with a smile and a winking eye. For this year, Dabo's dream match-up would be the Washington Commanders against the Kansas City Chiefs.

"The Commanders have a rookie in Jayden Daniels, who has had a massive year. They deserved it", says Dabo. QB Daniels surprisingly led his team to its first victory in the Divisional Round since 1991. But will it really be enough for the title?

Dabo is confident: "I'll make a crazy call and say: The Commanders will win the Super Bowl."

Patrick Esume, ELF Commissioner

ELF Commissioner and NFL expert Patrick Esume has had a hard time with his predictions. He had two favorites, the Detroit Lions and Baltimore Ravens, but they have already been eliminated. Now Esume has to make another decision. He goes with the Kansas City Chiefs, led by superstar Patrick Mahomes. He expects a Super Bowl between the Chiefs and the Philadelphia Eagles - with another win for Mahomes. 

"If it's money on the line, never bet against the 15", says Esume, referring to Mahomes' shirt number.

Cacau, VfB Stuttgart

VfB Stuttgart legend Cacau, who also believes in the reigning NFL champion, takes a similar view: "The Chiefs will do it." However, the former professional soccer player admits: "Mahomes is one of the few NFL players I know."

We'll know more on February 9th, when the new NFL champion will be decided. But we'll have to wait a little longer for the next ELF champion.

The final will take place on September 7th in the MHP Arena of VfB Stuttgart
