The Stuttgart Surge are further bolstering their linebacking corps with Italian Guiseppe Della Vecchia. Della Vecchia is another GFL Allstar joining the best league in Europe from the Schwäbisch Hall Unicorns, before being active for the Parma Panthers, Bolzano Giants and Milano Rhinos. The 28-year-old linebacker is an Italian Champion in 2021, German Bowl Champion in 2022 and won an international club championship with the Schwäbisch Hall Unicorns. “I chose to play for the Surge this year because it is the best football program all over Europe. I know that I can learn a lot and at the same time contribute my experience. Can’t wait to be a Maultäschle”, said Vecchia.

Ready for the European League of Football

With 51 tackles and two interceptions, Vecchia led the Unicorns in total tackles. Joining Vecchia are Meleka Japhet Mbala, Nikolas Knoblauch, Benjamin Spieß and Luca Siebert. New head coach Jordan Neuman and his defensive coordinator Johannes Brenner are putting together a powerful team to steer the previously unsuccessful Stuttgart franchise in the right direction.
