The Surge secure a reigning European League of Football Championship to amp up their young defense!

The Stuttgart Surge signs reigning European League of Football Champion Nikolas Knoblauch to their team, as reported by the franchise.

“After playing in Italy, Denmark, Sweden, Norway, and Frankfurt, it’s exciting to be back at home and to represent the Stuttgart Surge in the European League of Football”, Knoblauch commented.

The 26-year-old German linebacker played for multiple teams in his active football career. After two German Bowl titles and being named Finals MVP once, Knoblauch explored other clubs around Europe. With his great experience in European football, Knoblauch certainly adds tremendous value to the Surge roster.

In 2021, Knoblauch racked up 26 total tackles, seven tackles for loss, and one sack to contribute to the Frankfurt Galaxy Championship run.

“[Defensive Coordinator] Andy [Meyer] and I were talking to Nikolas [Knoblauch] for a while now. I am very happy that he will play for us in 2022. Nikolas [Knoblauch] will be a great cornerstone in our still young defense […]”, Surge head coach Martin Hanselmann announced.

Having said that, the defensive playmaker is set for a great season with a lot of young talent surrounding him.
