Milano Seamen sign cornerback Marquise Manning
The former Division II player will be playing for Stefan Pokorny’s team in 2023.
The Milano Seamen signed their fourth and final American import player. After signing quarterback Luke Zahradka and league all-time receptions and receiving yards leader Jéan Constant on offense the Italian franchise has now built a dynamic defensive back duo with safety Dejvion Steward and newly added cornerback Marquise Manning.
Marquise Manning played football and basketball in high school before committing to Division II Washburn University in 2016. After redshirting his first year, Manning had three appearances as a redshirt freshman and played in five games as a sophomore.
In 2019 the New Jersey native saw significantly more playing time, taking the field in all 11 games and recording 28 tackles along with two interceptions and 156 return yards.
With the 2020 season being canceled because of COVID-19, Manning played his senior season in 2021. That year was the best of his collegiate career.He established himself as a starter and had a great season with 27 tackles and a team-leading three interceptions and 12 pass breakups.Hisperformances also earned him a spot on the All-MIAA and the Super Region Three first teams.
Now the talented defensive back is making his way to Europe for the first time in his career, trying to prove that he and his new team have what it takes to succeed in the European League of Football
