Frankfurt Galaxy re-sign left tackle Yannic Kiehl and more

On their weekly "Purple Show", the Frankfurt Galaxy have announced the re-signing of seven Offensive linemen – including several starters - and one newly signed athlete.

The Frankfurt Galaxy have re-signed offensive linemen Yannic Kiehl, Frank Atunlese, Sven Fischer, Nils Hampel, Tim Hirsch, Thang Le Minh and Moritz Schmidt. While the Galaxy lost their left tackle Yannic Kiehl in the middle of the season, Kiehl will be back for 2023. Also added to the team was Danijel Miletic, former Virginia Tech Hokies lineman.

New and old faces

After Kiehl’s injury, the starting lineup consisted of Basil Weber (left tackle), Frank Atunlese (left guard), Joachim Christensen (center), Sven Fischer (right guard) and right tackle Tim Hirsch. Three of them are back for the 2023 season. Added to them are Thang Le Minh – who switched from defensive tackle to offensive line - and Moritz Schmidt, as well as Danijel Miletic who originally started playing for the Darmstadt Diamonds.

Head coach Thomas Kösling is getting many of his players from the last two years back while also adding talent from Europe and the region. "We have shown in many games that we belong to the top teams and [...] do not have to hide from our performance. What's a pity is that we could have gotten more out of it." Frankfurt Galaxy finished third in the Central Conference of 2022 behind the Vienna Vikings and Raiders Tirol.

WILL THE GALAXY GO TO DUISBURG?
