With the NFL season coming to end after the Super Bowl LVI victory of the Los Angeles Rams over the Cincinnati Bengals, the European League of Football franchises were relentlessly working towards the 2022 season. Some teams re-signed important players, others announced NFL-experienced coaches to lead their team to unprecedented heights.

On top of all the franchise related news, the European League of Football released the 2022 schedule for the upcoming season as well.

Let’s have a look at all the latest news.

The Barcelona Dragons re-signed 2021 All-Star defensive back Andy Vera. They also announced the re-signing of former NFL kicker Giorgio Tavecchio to their roster for the 2022 season.

Today, the Dragons held a combine to fill their last roster spots for the second season in the European League of Football.

The Berlin Thunder announced the signing of 2021 NFL International Combine attendee Connor Bolton to their roster for the 2022 season.

The Centurions were very active over the last week by signing tight end Laurin Wiegand and offensive lineman Leander Wiegand to their 2022 roster. In addition, the Centurions signed German running back Dean Tanwani and defensive lineman Janek Wenke.

The Frankfurt Galaxy re-signed 2021 All-Star safety Joshua Poznanski, 2021 All-Star linebacker Sebastian Silva Gomez, American safety Fernando Lowery, and 2021 All-Star defensive tackle Marc Anthony Hor. On top of that, the reigning champion signed former Berlin Thunder All-Star linebacker and league tackle leader Wael Nasri. The Galaxy also signed former Leipzig Kings All-Star defensive lineman Vincent Buffet this past week.

The Sea Devils hired Jens Allers as their new defensive line coach and Karin Tries as their assistant quarterback coach.

The German franchise re-signed fullback Jeremy Sarfo, defensive lineman Berend Grube, wide receiver Jean-Claude Madin Cerezo, cornerback Louis Müller, and linebacker Matthias Spiegel.

The Istanbul Rams signed two former rugby players in British running back Tyresse Johnson-Fisher and defensive lineman Najee Mundicha to their roster for the 2022 season.

The Turkish franchise also announced the hiring of linebackers coach Erhan Batuk and his son Can Batuk as the import liaison officer.

The Leipzig Kings announced the signing of Spanish running back and strong safety Javier Carrasco Sanz, former Berlin Thunder offensive lineman Pollys Junio Sacramento, linebacker Lion Deckwarth, and offensive lineman Christoph Schob.

On top of those player signing, the Kings were able to sign outside linebacker Jan-Phillip Bombek who played for the Sea Devils in 2021 and finished the season with eleven sacks in only seven games played.

The Kings also announced new co-owner Moritz Heisler and equipment manager Tommy Graf.

The Raiders Tirol announced the signing of Finnish offensive tackle Tony Koskinen and Austrian wide receiver Adrian Platzgummer to their 2022 roster.

Rhein Fire shocked the football world by announcing the hiring of former San Francisco 49ers head coach Jim Tomsula as their new head coach and defensive coordinator for the 2022 season.

The German franchise also announced the signing of NFL International Combine attendee and linebacker Lukas Ruoss to their team. Rhein Fire also signed former Centurions tight end Florian Eichhorn, offensive linemen Jonathan Peppler, Vojislav Hahn, Jan-Niclas Dalbeck, running back Leander Carstensen, and linebacker Niklas Siegert.

The Stuttgart Surge signed former Schwäbisch Hall Unicorns wide receiver Enrico Pascual to their roster for the 2022 season.

The Vienna Vikings signed a trio of Austrian cornerbacks in Florian Jorst, Leo Gerner, and Nikolaus Huszar.

The Austrian franchise also announced the Generali Arena as their homefield for the 2022 season in the European League of Football.
