Raiders happy: "These are the games we play for"
The Raiders Tirol ended the Stuttgart Surge's unbeaten streak with a thrilling 45-42 victory, coming back from an 18-point deficit in a game filled with intensity and emotion. The game saw both teams exchanging blows, with the Raiders defense playing a crucial role in keeping them in contention by forcing several turnovers.
Despite a strong start by Stuttgart, the Raiders quickly found their footing. Their defense, led by Tim Unger and Vincent Müller, forced key turnovers that kept the game close. N’Kosi Perry guided the offense, repeatedly tying the game and keeping the pressure on Stuttgart.
In the closing moments of the game, Perry connected with Richard Weber for a touchdown that gave the Raiders a narrow lead. With only seconds left, Stuttgart attempted a field goal to send the game into overtime, but the Raiders defense blocked the kick, securing their victory.
Wide receiver Philipp Haun reflected on the game, saying, "These are the games we play for. We always believed in ourselves, and this was an incredibly important win." Head Coach Jim Herrmann shared his excitement: "I'm overwhelmed! We worked so hard and today we were rewarded. The players supported each other throughout - it was a great team win. I’m just so happy for my players!"
The Raiders now face a very intense final stretch of the regular season. With their win against the Stuttgart Surge, they have the same number of victories as the Munich Ravens and the Madrid Bravos, who are also fighting for a playoff spot. In Week 13, the Raiders will play against the Milano Seamen, before the likely decisive game for the playoffs against the Munich Ravens in Week 14.
