Big deal for Rhein Fire! All-Star defensive back Omari Williams signs a new contract with the current ELF champions until 2026.

Since joining the league in 2021, the US import has been one of the best pass defenders in the league. He made his debut for Frankfurt Galaxy, for whom he immediately made three interceptions and a fumble. Williams moved to Rhein Fire in 2022 - a win-win deal for both sides. 

He had his big breakthrough in his first year with the Fire. The now 28-year-old made 73 tackles, four interceptions, four pass deflections, two fumbles and two return touchdowns. From 2022-2024, Williams was selected to the ELF All-Star team thanks to his strong performances. He was also ELF Champion with Galaxy in 2021 and Rhein Fire in 2023 and 2024.

With a total of 13 interceptions in 45 ELF games, Williams shares the all-time interceptions crown with Goran Zec. After a one-year break, the Serbian signed with the Fehérvár Enthroners. So the league is set for an exciting battle between the ELF's best ball hawks next season.
