How it all happened: Ravens and Bravos clinch playoffs, Raiders fall out

After a thrilling 14 weeks of action in the ELF we finally have all out playoff teams set, as six of the league's best squads will battle it out for a the 4th title in ELF history.

The Vienna Vikings (1 seed), Stuttgart Surge (2 seed), Rhein Fire (3 seed), and Paris Musketeers (4 seed) all had already clinched the playoff by Week 14 with impressive seasons as the Vikings finished undefeated, the Surge and Rhein Fire only suffered one loss each, and Paris finished 10-2.

The final two spots of the playoffs were up for grabs prior to last week with the Raiders Tirol, Munich Ravens, and Madrid Bravos all fighting to extend their season.

The Madrid Bravos (8-4) helped themselves first, winning in Croatia against the Hamburg Sea Devils in the ELF’s first ever International Game on Saturday. The Spaniards still needed the Munich Ravens to win to make the playoffs as they held the same record as the Raiders Tirol, but did hold the tiebreaker with more points scored.

The Munich Ravens did just that, dominating the Raiders at home winning 30-3. In front of a ruckus crowd cheering them on, they punched their ticket to the first ever playoff appearance in the franchises two year history. The Ravens win earned them a 9-3 record and the 5th overall seed. They will travel to play the paris Musketeers next week.

The loss knocked the Raiders Tirol out of the playoffs as they finished with a 8-4 record. They scored less points then the Madrid Bravos and had no head to head matchups. Therefore the 8-4 Bravos advance to the playoffs in their first year of existence, while the Raiders unfortunately for them miss the playoffs for consecutive seasons.
