Vienna Vikings re-sign team captain Luis Horvath

The second-team all-star safety is returning to the reigning champions!

After head coach Chris Calaycay extended his contract, team captain and cornerstone Luis Horvath will return to the Vikings as well.

Vikings role model

Luis Horvath has been a Viking for 15 years now, despite being only 26 years old. The Austrian safety has been a stable in Austrian football for many years now. He won two European Junior championships with the national team and quickly became a difference maker for the Vikings’ senior team. In his first season at the senior level, Horvath was named team Defensive Rookie of the Year and established himself after that. In 2018, the talented Austrian had arguably the best season of his career, being the AFL leader with an astonishing seven interceptions.
