Top Signings of the Week – Munich Ravens sign underrated running back

Do you wonder what players were the real steals this past week? Then this is just the right place for you!

Munich Ravens sign former Galaxy running back

The Munich Ravens are a new franchise in the European League of Football. But they have done a great job so far accumulating talented players that have gathered experience in the European League of Football on different rosters in previous years.

An example of that is the signing of running back Justin Rodney. The former Frankfurt Galaxy running back and special teams ace has performed at several different positions on the field over the past two years in the league.

The 26-year-old athlete was part of the Galaxy team that has won the first ever European League of Football Championship back in 2021. Last season, Rodney produced over 150 rushing yards and two rushing touchdowns while adding 12 kickoff returns for 275 return yards.

His average of 22.92 returns yards per kickoff were the seventh most by any player in the league with ten or more kickoff returns.

Expect Rodney to be productive as rotational running back. But he can make the most damage when returning kicks and punts in the open field with his 4.4 speed.

Stuttgart Surge sign former Division I wideout

Former Division I wide receiver Bryce Nunnelly will join the Surge on their way to have a positive record for their first time in franchise history!

Nunnelly joined the Kansas City Chiefs and the Tennessee Titans in their rookie mini camps in 2022, after he finished his collegiate career at Western Michigan. From 2017 to 2020, Nunnelly has played for the Chattanooga Mocs where he was named 1st Team All-Southern Conference because of his great accomplishments on the field.

Last season, the American wideout has played for Surge head coach Jordan Neuman at the Schwäbisch Hall Unicorns in the German Football League. He now follows his head coach to the European League of Football in 2023.

The Stuttgart Surge now have a stacked wide receiver room with Bryce Nunnelly leading the way. It will be interesting to see how defense try to defend all of Reilly Hennessey’s weapons when the third-ever European League of Football season kicks off on the first weekend of June.

Rhein Fire add dominant linebacker on defense

Lino Schröter will be a force for Rhein Fire this season! The former Cologne Crocodile fits into Jim Tomsula’s defense as the 188cm tall and 104kg heavy will pair up with former Centurion linebacker Flamur Simon. With other talented players on the roster, the Rhein Fire could easily have the best linebacker group in the league this upcoming season.

In 2022, Schröter racked up 42 total tackles, ten tackles for loss, and five sacks which earned him All-Star honors in the German Football League. He was even invited to the NFL International Combine in London and could easily be a candidate to go their again following his first season with Rhein Fire!

Look out for Rhein Fire to keep the strong signings going with a Championship appearance at their home field becoming more likely.
