Tirol Raiders sign linebacker Precious Ogbevoen
The 27-year-old will re-unite with his brother on the Raiders.
The Tirol Raiders are improving their linebacker group even further. 27-year-old tackling machine Precious Ogbevoen will return to Austria.
The Austrian linebacker started his career with the Vienna Vikings, before playing college football in the US for New Mexico Military Institute and New Mexico Highlands University. He joined the Frankfurt Galaxy in 2021, where he won the European League of Football Championship Game. In 2022 Ogbevoen joined the Stuttgart Surge, for which he collected 84 tackles, 13.5 tackles for loss, five sacks a forced fumble and an interception, earning him a spot on the Second European League of Football All-Star team.
Now the standout linebacker is joining forces with his brother Lucky for the Raiders. Together with Ruben Seeber and Julian Perfler, the Ogbevoen brothers are now part of one of the best position groups in the European League of Football.
Precious made clear that his brother played a crucial role in his signing with the Raiders:
“Hey Raider nation, I am excited to be a part of this amazing franchise. After talking to Coach K and my brother I knew that this year’s team is going to be something special. Can’t wait to wear the silver and black!”
Raiders head coach Kevin Herron had the following to say about his newest signing:
” I am really looking forward to welcoming Precious to the Raiders. After a long time, he is playing in Austria again and we managed to re-unite him with his brother. With his type of play and experience, he will be enormous reinforcement for our linebacker group. But having won him as a person is what I am most happy about. He will fit here great. Welcome to the Raiders family.”
It is safe to say that it will be fun to see the Ogbevoen brothers on the field together, especially when they will take on their former team, the Vienna Vikings, in the interconference games.
