Foundation stone laid! European League of Football and FIDAF sign memorandum of understanding for cooperation

European League of Football and FIDAF make step in the right direction.

The European League of Football and FIDAF (Federazione Italiana diAmerican Football), the Italian American Football Federation, met in Milan in recent days to sign a cooperation agreement. Patrick Esume, Commissioner of the European League of Football, and Fabio Tortosa, Vice President of FIDAF, laid the foundation for the lifting of sanctions by FIDAF and an ongoing cooperation.

Commissioner Patrick Esume is optimistic to have made an important step for the future of European football by the agreement of the European League of Football with FIDAF. "We have always been interested in productive communication since the start of the league. With this cooperation we are taking an important step in the right direction to lay a solid foundation together with FIDAF for our beloved sport in Italy."

The points of the cooperation concern the recognition of each other's competitions and a consideration of the competition calendars, the strengthening of communication, organization and game development, as well as joint training in all areas of the sport.

The European League of Football's legal department will now initiate the necessary steps to implement the measures discussed, in constant exchange with FIDAF.

The 2022 season kicks off on June 4 and will feature defending champion Frankfurt Galaxy, last year's finalist Hamburg Sea Devils, Berlin Thunder, Cologne Centurions, Stuttgart Surge, Leipzig Kings and Rhein Fire from Germany, Vienna Vikings and Raiders Tirol from Austria, Barcelona Dragons from Spain, Panthers Wroclaw from Poland and Istanbul Rams from Turkey. The Championship Game will take place on September 25 in Klagenfurt, Austria.
