European League of Football continues live on TV24 in Switzerland
TV contract extended until 2026!
Great news for all Swiss football enthusiasts! Shortly before the start of the European League of Football pre-season, the continent's most successful American football league has announced the extension of its TV partnership with another top-class media company. Selected ELF matches will continue to be shown exclusively on free-TV in Switzerland via TV24, a CH Media channel. The contract runs until 2026.
"Switzerland will continue to play a major role in our broadcasting portfolio in the coming years. Consolidating this cooperation in an important market for us is something we can be proud of. We are delighted to have found a reliable broadcasting partner in CH Media for the coming years, who will continue to provide our Swiss fans with top football 'Made in Europe'," said Zeljko Karajica, Managing Director of the European League of Football.
CH Media is the third-largest private media company in Switzerland with an annual turnover of over 400 million Swiss francs. The family-run company employs around 1800 people in all regions of German-speaking Switzerland. Its portfolio includes around 80 media brands - including eight national and five regional TV stations, twelve radio stations, 18 newspaper titles, 19 online portals and the streaming service oneplus.
Roger Elsener, CEO CH Media TV, says: "American football has a high entertainment value and is becoming increasingly popular, especially with young audiences. We are delighted to be able to continue presenting live matches from Europe's best league exclusively in Switzerland in the coming seasons. Our broadcasts will focus in particular on the Helvetic Mercenaries, who will represent Switzerland in the ELF from the new season."
17 teams from nine nations will compete in the 2024 ELF season: Berlin Thunder, Hamburg Sea Devils, Rhein Fire, Frankfurt Galaxy, Cologne Centurions, Stuttgart Surge, Munich Ravens (all from Germany), Paris Musketeers (France), Milano Seamen (Italy), Raiders Tirol, Vienna Vikings (both Austria), Panthers Wrocław (Poland), Madrid Bravos, Barcelona Dragons (both Spain), Prague Lions (Czech Republic), Helvetic Mercenaries (Switzerland) and Fehérvár Enthroners (Hungary). The Championship Game will be played in Gelsenkirchen on September 22.
