The Stuttgart Surge have taken another hit after their Week 2 loss to the Paris Musketeers. American wide receiver Jeff Cotton Jr. has suffered an injury and was placed on Injured Reserve (IR).

In his first two games of the season, Cotton recorded 4 receptions for 57 yards and 1 touchdown. His absence leaves a gap in the Surge’s receiving corps as they prepare for a tough road game in Hamburg.

NFL experience added: Michael Harley Jr. joins the Surge

To replace Cotton, the Surge have signed Michael Harley Jr., a 27-year-old wide receiver with NFL and CFL experience. Harley played college football for the Miami Hurricanes, where he showed strong speed and agility as a slot receiver.

In 2022, Harley joined the Cleveland Browns as an undrafted free agent and spent time on their practice squad. He later had a short stint in the United Football League and eventually signed with the Miami Dolphins. His most recent team was the Calgary Stampeders in the Canadian Football League.

Harley brings pro-level experience and fresh energy to the Surge offense and is expected to be game-ready for Week 3, when the Surge face the Hamburg Sea Devils in what promises to be a physical battle.

Will Harley be the spark Stuttgart needs to bounce back? We'll find out this weekend!
