Vikings QB Holmes under enormous pressure
The key battle between Surge Defense and the Vikings offensive line clearly went to the German team. Vikings quarterback Ben Holmes had a tough day and was sacked five times in the first half alone. Surge repeatedly brought linebackers into the pass rush, creating enormous pressure. Overall the defense, led by a strong Robert Lachmann, who recorded three sacks on his own, recorded eight sacks.
Under intense pressure, Holmes makes elementary mistakes. Just like Surge quarterback Reilly Hennessey, who throws three interceptions. However, homegrown Louis Geyer stands by his quarterback and catches three important touchdowns in his hometown.
Surge has successfully completed a long season, driven by the sole ambition of winning this title. The team is crowned the first team to become champion in its own city. It is Surge's first ELF title overall. Let the big party begin.
