After months without official practice, the Centurions and other franchises started to prepare for the second season in the European League of Football.

Over 60 players were present at the Ostkampfbahn in Cologne to start the first practice at 9 a.m. CET. With two full-padded practices scheduled over the course of the day, the Centurions were scouring the rust off their helmets.

“[…] We had great intensity throughout practice and high level of play. We also have a motto for this year on defense which I cannot tell you yet. But I can promise you, we will get a lot better this year […]”, Centurions defensive end Julian Völker commented after practice.

Cologne Centurions defensive coordinator Javan Lenhardt was impressed by the intensity of the team as well and pointed at the quality of all the new players: “So, today’s practice was very good. I was really impressed with the new guys that we have along with the guys from last year that we kept. I am looking forward to this season and I think that we’re going to be better than we were last season”. He added: “I liked the intensity. We have a lot of athleticism on defense this year […]”.

According to the Centurions, Sunday’s practice had the purpose to officially kick off the second season in the European League of Football and to finalize the 2022 roster as well.
