European League of Football All-Star defensive lineman Vincent Buffet signs with the Frankfurt Galaxy for the 2022 season, as reported by the German franchise.
“First of all, I’m so glad to be a part of the Galaxy. I want to thank [head] coach [Kösling], the players, and the organization of Frankfurt”, Buffet commented on his decision to sign with his new team. He added: “I really felt that I’ve made the right decision to sign with the very first European League of Football Champion. It’s an honor”.
The 31-year-old French defensive lineman had a breakout-season in 2021 for the Leipzig Kings. He recorded 20 total tackles, twelve tackles for loss, and six sacks over the course of ten games. In addition, the 189cm tall and 125kg heavy defender recovered two fumbles as well.
“This season will be an absolute dream […], surrounded by so much talent from both sides of the ball. [I] can’t wait”, Buffet elaborated. The Frenchman already played for a handful of teams across Europe including the Seinäjoki Crocodiles in 2019, the Hildesheim Invaders in 2020, and the Leipzig Kings in 2021.
Now, the playmaking defensive lineman will join forces with other All-Star players like Wael Nasri, Sebastian Gauthier, and Sebastian Silva Gomez. Buffet stress his excitement for the next chapter of his football career: “[I’m] so excited to meet the Galaxy family, the fans and the beautiful city of Frankfurt”.
