A man from the very beginning: Next extension for the Raiders
Another important deal for the Tirol Raiders. The team from Austria has extended its contract with Tim Unger for another year.
This means that the linebacker, who played an important role last season, will continue to collect tackles for the Raiders. The 30-year-old already proved that he can do this last season. Unger made 51 tackles, including 4.5 for loss and 1.5 sacks.
He began his football career with the Osnabrück Tigers in Germany. After playing for the New Yorker Lions, he joined the Raiders in 2020, at the time still known as the Swarco Raiders. In 2022, they joined the ELF and became the Tirol Raiders.
A change, who Unger also experienced. After all, he also played for the Raiders in 2022, as well as his entire three years in the league. "Thrilled to announce that your #33 is back with the Raiders! Ready for an unforgettable season with the team," he says.
Raider General Manager Ulz Däuber adds: "Tim’s attention to detail and his meticulous preparation on and off the field puts him in a position to consistently make plays. Most importantly, I’m very excited to have Tim back as a leader of this team."
In addition to captain Adrian Platzkummer, the Raiders are therefore extending their contract with another veteran player.
