With the 54:19 victory over the Frankfurt Galaxy, the Panthers Wroclaw once again proved one thing impressively: They are the best rushing defense in the league. Against Galaxy, they allowed just 61 yards on the ground, 1033 all season long. "I'm proud of our guys for being the top Rush Defense in the League after yesterday's Win!!!", said the man who is the heart of this defense - A.J. Wentland.

The linebacker continues to deliver in his third ELF season. So far, he has never had fewer than 110 total tackles in any of them. This year, he already has 147 tackles - the most in the league.

However, if you looked closely against Galaxy, you might have seen the 29-year-old in an unusual role. Surprisingly, the coaching staff used him as a tight end from time to time. Wentland made blocks and even caught a touchdown.

"I’m thankful that the offensive staff gave me the opportunity to get some snaps on offense in short yardage situations to block and lead the way for our Running Backs. I was fortunate enough to get my number called and scored my first ELF touchdown!", says Wentland happily.

Missed playoffs - "we lost some very close games"

In Week 14 the Panthers will face the Prague Lions in their last game of the season. The playoffs are already out of reach. "We know that we lost some very close games that could have easily gone the other way, we know that we are a good team", explains Wentland.

The mission against Prague is clear for the US import: "Now we head to Prague for our final game of the season, and the goal is to finish on a high note and finish the season at .500." With a win, the team from Wroclaw would end the season with a record of 6-6. In other words, just as many wins as defeats.

Whether A.J. Wentland will be back in the offense remains to be seen. Lions be warned.
